Close to the Camel Trail it offers a great base for small families and couples looking to explore this popular area. Within a short drive you can discover numerous stunning beaches and coastal villages including Padstow Rock and Tintagel. Gourmet dining can be experienced at restaurants by Rick Stein Jamie Oliver Nathan Outlaw and Paul Ainsworth. Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy walks along the coastal footbath and bikes can even be hired in nearby Wadebridge. Venture inland and attractions include The Lost Gardens of Heligan The Eden Project Bodmin Moor and numerous National Trust properties. Alternatively relax at the traditional country pub nearby which serves real ales and has a good reputation for food has free Wi-Fi and can provide a meals service to the cottage if required. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size with lovely views towards Bodmin Moor and 1 twin (2ft 6 beds) approached by cottage style stairs with views of the Camel Estuary towards Stepper Point. Bathroom: with electric shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: beautiful light and airy living area with stone fireplace woodburner (first basket of logs provided October April inclusive) TV Blu-ray DVD Bluetooth sound system with iPod docking station and a selection of books maps and games. Kitchen area: with electric oven hob fridge/freezer microwave dishwasher and washing machine. Outside: door from the lounge leads out to communal garden area at the rear of the property and communal courtyard to the front. Amenities: private off-road parking for 1 car in shared car park. Bed linen Wi-Fi electric and heating included. Regret no smoking within the property. Regret no pets. Additional info: bike anchors are available at the front and rear of the property. Wadebridge is a town in Cornwall, England, situated either side of the River Camel just upstream from Padstow. It is located not far from Egloshayle, St Breock, Whitecross, St Endellion, Washaway, and Port Isaac and is one of more than two hundred and fifty towns or villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest official city is the Cornish capital of Truro.
The old A39 road used to pass right through Wadebridge, causing much congestion, especially in summer months, in the town itself. In 1991, however, a bypass was built which has alleviated this problem and allowed some of the town to be pedestrianized, giving it back much of its original character.
The town used to have a railway line running along the river side towards Padstow on the coast, but this was closed along with many other branch lines but now forms the path of the 'Camel Trail' cycle route, which is popular with tourists and affords beautiful views across the estuary.
